Time to Split More Wood

Just when you think spring has broke...it breaks loose. I have been spanked by the weather pretty heard the last couple of weeks trying to get the deck in order with no avail. The forecast looked pretty grim so I decided to spend a day in the shop building the boxes for the dressers in our room. They would make cabinets 2 and 3 in my resume so I was not sure if they would turn out alright. I spent the day at Gallery with lots of sawhorses and lights and knocked them out. I learned building the vanity that all you really see in a cabinet is the frame and door and drawer fronts. I opted for MDF and cheap plywood for the boxes. I got the drawer slides put in much more efficiently the second time around which was great for my mind. It was a great project considering there is about 3 inches of snow on the ground. Maranda was able to help after a long day by picking up the paint brush for the finishing touches.

What better thing to do after recruiting Mom and Wade to paint than to take GP fishing. I know this does not technically have anything to do with the house be we thought it important to ring in the new season by spanking a few browns. It turned out to be a beautiful day and I was tired after framing the rest of the deck so the stream was a much better option...and if you can't tell...it was an excellent choice. The old man has still got it. I made an exception to keep a few for the first time so Grandma could eat. The painters got the back all buttoned up and moved on down the side a little before we called it quits and headed to the lake...after all...it was Saturday.
