New New New
After a stylish pose from our old buddy Dan, it was time to do some more ripping to install the new floor joists in the living room. I had to run a quadruple microlam to support the floor system. It could have been worse but at least I will have a flat ceiling. This go around I wised up an cut out the whole roofing boards instead of just a slot for the joist. As you can see from the photo, 1/2 of the job is done.

The Light Is Faint...But Its There
The light at the end of the tunnel is faint...so it is becoming a chore to convince everyone else. The living room is finally gone no more heat and I can move on to finishing the second floor system. Wade, Mom , and Maranda helped with the demo and the cleanup which proved to be a major task. I have made 3 dump runs and still have more in order to get rid of all the trash and debris. Hopefully now we can move forward with new construction quicker.

Business As Usual
I had to demo the wall between our old bedroom and the old kitchen in order to reframe the center load bearing wall. The section behind the bathroom door is where the microlam will catch to span the living room so it had to go. The bathroom door was the last interior door standing...oh well. I think this is about as raw as it will get, so if we can stand this we may survive. I does feel good to get rid of all the old rot and dirt that has been above us since we moved in. If you look closely you can see that I actually left an original stud.
